3. Taklamakan Desert
The top 3 impressive deserts is opened by the Tibetan desert that is a little bit smaller like Germany – the Taklamakan Desert, from China, whose name can be translated as “once in, never out”. This desert hides an imposing number of secrets under its sands! In ancient times, this area was dimmed with fortresses and citadels, which were swallowed by sand over time.
The Chinese scientists have recently discovered that there is a whole ocean “hidden” under the desert, whose surface is equal to that of the Great Lakes from the USA. Another recent discovery that demonstrates that Taklamakan is still a mysterious place is a unique cemetery, where the bodies remained very well preserved due to the dry air from the region.
