6. Kalahari Desert
The Kalahari is the fourth largest desert in the world, spreading over Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. It is a red-sand desert. Who could think that a desert could become an UNESCO World Heritage Center? Well, it is real!
Diverse parts of the Kalahari have been included in the UNESCO list, including the Central Kalahari Game Reserve (the world’s second largest wildlife park) and the Okavango river Delta that stretches through the desert. These areas differ from the rest of the Kalahari by extremely rich flora and fauna. Take a ride on a camel through the savanna of Kalahari and observe giraffes, jackals, antelopes, meerkats, secretary birds, eagles, owls, falcons living in their natural habitat.
