8. Mojave Desert
The Mojave Desert is the driest desert in North America, spreading over southeastern California and southern Nevada, as well as over a small piece of Utah and Arizona. In general, the borders of the desert are naturally marked by Joshua trees, native just for the Mojave. The lowest and hottest place in North America is found in this desert – the Death Valley, where the temperature frequently exceeds 49 degrees Celsius from late June to early August.
From here to there, during your trip in the Mojave, due to climate conditions, you can observe wind farms. Certainly, you will be amazed that a sandy area can be so developed! Although the Mojave is not too populated, the desert is surrounded by many metropolises such as Las Vegas, Lancaster, Pahrump, and other. If you are a fan of Tarantino’s movies, do not miss the opportunity to visit one of the filming spots of “Kill Bill 1” and “Kill Bill 2” – the church found in the Mojave near Lancaster.
