9. Arthur’s Seat
Arthur’s Seat with many references in various literary works over the period of time is one of the four hill forts in Scotland, claiming the existence for more than 2000 years. One of the most visited attractions for the tourists and an integral part of Scottish skyline—Arthur’s Seat within Holyrood Park, has often been mentioned as one of the possible locations for the legendary court and castle of the warrior-chief—King Arthur. The park described by Robert Louis Stevenson—the renowned Scottish literary figure—as “a hill for magnitude, a mountain in virtue of its bold design” offers the pretty vistas of the city, volcanic geology and has wildlife too.
