7. Cable Cars
Since the late 19th century, cable cars have been transporting people in and about the city. Consequently, they’ve been made into one of the most characteristic and top rated tourist attractions in San Francisco. Today traversing three famous routes in the city, the cars are moved by an underground cable and run on tracks.
Even if you happen to be several blocks away, the familiar sound of the bells can be heard ringing very clearly. If you’re interested in going for a ride, tickets can be bought at the turnarounds at the end of each route.
