9. Transamerica Pyramid
We’ve already said that there are numerous world-famous attractions scattered throughout the city, but certainly one of the most famous and top rated tourist attractions in San Francisco is the Transamerica Pyramid.
It can be found in the heart of the city’s financial district; the building was literally the talk of the town when it was finished back in 1972. It is still the tallest building adorning the San Francisco skyline thanks to its height of 853 feet (260 meters).
And because it offers the advantage of letting more air and light in the streets below, a pyramid is reportedly the ideal shape for skyscrapers, according to the words of its architect, William L. Pereira.
