3. Sokobanja
What used to be the favorite retreats of Roman emperors are today legendary spa towns known far and wide for their healing properties. Serbia is a country unique for many things, and spa towns have long been on that list. Thermal waters that have healing properties cause local folk, and especially travelers from afar, to go to great lengths to visit this gem among the best tourist attractions in Serbia.
A 17th century steam room is also located on-site, which only adds to the charm. Also referred to as a “climatic spa” due to the increased elevation of Sokobanja, this place is also highly valued for the crisp air loaded with negative ions and free from air pollution.
