Located in Cambria, California, Nitwit Castle is the brainchild of Arthur “Art” Harold Beal, an itinerant artist who created his own hillside castle over the course of a whopping five decades. Just down the road from another castle, William Randolph Hearst’s Hearst Castle, Nitwit Ridge is a folk-art masterpiece and a California Historic Landmark open for tours.
