7. Bodie Ghost Town
We’re talking here about an original, circa 1800s, mining town that’s found just north of Bridgeport. Intentionally left in a state of arrested decay, Bodie is today a State Historic Park. It’s often said that there are ghost towns, and that there’s also Bodie.
As far as beautiful hidden gems go, this is one you’ll want to visit, at least for the purposes of experiencing what life was like back in 1859 when William S. Bodey discovered gold in the region.
