7. Todaiji Temple, Japan
Home to Vairocana, the world’s largest bronze statue of the Buddha, Todaiji Temple in Japan is the Japanese headquarters of the Kegon school of Buddhism. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and amongst the historic monuments on ancient Nara, the temple was once regarded as one of the seven most powerful Buddhist temples in Nara. Apart from the main temple structure, the green gardens are the most prominent feature of the complex.
