Ask anyone who has ever travelled on Bergen Railway, and they will swear by the adrenaline rush this epic train ride gives to its passengers. Starting from the most elevated train station in Norway, passing through the country’s most dramatic landscape and some of Europe’s most inhospitable topography, Bergen Railway also reaches the Hardangervidda plateau located at a height of 1,237 metres above sea level. The highest mainline railway line in Northern Europe the Bergensbanen covers a distance of 308 miles in approximately six and a half hours.
