4. Wallowa Lake
One of the clearest bodies of water in all of Oregon, Wallowa Lake is surrounded by holiday homes and resorts. And them folks ain’t crazy – biking, camping, sightseeing, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, hiking, fishing and enjoying watersports are all typical daily activities here during season. The backcountry tends to change dramatically during the winter due to the fact that there are ample forests surrounding the lake. But there’s also a four-person tram available for visitors to take to the top of Mount Howard to enjoy some pretty mind-blowing sights.
