The thing about Americana is, not many people get to experience that raw, adventurous, renegade spirit of times gone by. You know what we’re talking about – just waking up in the morning, having some breakfast, getting dressed, starting up your 1968 Dodge Charger, blasting some Led Zeppelin or AC/DC through the speakers and setting out wherever the road takes you. And that’s the essence of a road trip: you, your machine, the asphalt and nothing but time.
In honor of such elusive experiences, we’ve decided to compile a list of America’s best road trips in the hopes that some day you’ll perhaps win one for the rest of us who are otherwise preoccupied. Here goes.
