10. Xunantunich, Mayan Ruins, Belize
A fascinating archaeological discovery, Xunantunich is the site of Mayan ruins in Belize. It is believed that Xunantunich was settled in the ceramic phase of the Pre-classic period.
Located on the top of a ridge which is barely 1 km away from Guatemala border, Xunantunich first served as a centre for ceremonies. A burial chamber has also been discovered here which is one of the largest Mayan burial chamber found in the last century. An unparalleled cultural experience, Xunantunich is also a must-visit destination for history lovers.
