6. Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) —Mexico
A festival to remember the departed souls, Day of the Dead is one of the most amazing festivals in the world to be a part of. Celebrated throughout Mexico, the festival has been inscribed in the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. As a tradition of this hundreds of years old festival, people dress in striking costumes and show their love for the dead relatives and friends by visiting graves with sugar skulls, marigolds, and other favourite foods and beverages of the deceased. Make sure, you attend this festival before crossing the fence to be the subject of celebration.
