10. Explore the Desert Castles
A string of palaces, pre-Islamic forts, and several edifices spread across the desert plains towards the east of Amman are known as the Desert Castles and are hugely popular tourist attractions in Jordan. These castles were built between 660 and 750 as a part of the Umayyad Desert Castles scattered across Jordan, Syria, Israel and Palestine. A must-visit site in Jordan, the Desert Castles are the most impressive examples of early Islamic art and architecture.
