The 50-mile long Going-to-the-Sun Road which is also the only American roadway designated both a National Civil Engineering Landmark and a National Historic Landmark is extremely picturesque mountain road that passes through the crest of the Continental Divide to Logan Pass and reaches an elevation of 6,646 feet offering the most stunning views of the park. Narrow and twisting with hairpin turns are the highlights of this drive which will keep the adrenaline rushing.
The Shenandoah National Park is entirely in the state of Virginia. However, the Blue Ridge Parkway starts in North Carolina and continues through Virginia to meet up with Skyline Drive at the entrance to Shenandoah Nat’l. Park and continues on to Front Royal, VA. The entire drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains is one of the most beautiful in the country.
