4. Crater Lake National Park, Oregon
Established in 1902, Crater Lake National Park is the fifth oldest national park in the United States, and it covers the caldera of Crater Lake surrounded by forests and hills. Two hours’ drive on the 33-mile loop called Rim Drive which passes through an elevation of 3,800 feet is not just extremely scenic but also offers unparalleled views of the cliff and lake. However, Rim Drive remains closed from mid-October to mid-June due to snowfall.

The Shenandoah National Park is entirely in the state of Virginia. However, the Blue Ridge Parkway starts in North Carolina and continues through Virginia to meet up with Skyline Drive at the entrance to Shenandoah Nat’l. Park and continues on to Front Royal, VA. The entire drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains is one of the most beautiful in the country.
