7. Centre Georges Pompidou
Commonly referred to as Centre Pompidou or Pompidou Centre is the modern face of Paris and a fine representation of the avant-garde architectural style. The unique steel structure with multicolored pipes (green plumbing pipes, blue climate control ducts, yellow electrical wires and red safety devices) of the building not just attracts tourists but piques curiosity in its own way. New York Times termed it as a design that “turned the architecture world upside down”. As per National Geographic it’s “love at second sight.” And an article in Le Figaro compared it with Loch Ness, the monster. The center houses an information library, Europe’s largest modern art museum and a music and acoustic center within.
