5. Marsaxlokk
Charming and atmospheric, Marsaxlokk is an ancient fishing village in south east of Malta famous for its waterfront as well as for weekly fish and souvenir market. Traditional low-rise houses along the waterfront and a striking fleet of brightly hued fishing boats (luzzu) docked in the harbor create an alluring picture attracting thousands of tourists who flock to the Sunday market and waterfront restaurants serving excellent sea food. Marsaxlokk is about 40 minutes away from Valletta, however, the narrow, straight road to reach this lovely village is equally gorgeous with vineyards on both sides.
