6. Stirling
History is the name of the game here. Famous for the Battle of Stirling Bridge, which saw William Wallace secure a victory for Scottish independence, as well as the Battle of Bannockburn, known for Robert the Bruce’s victory over the English in 1314, this place is set between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The legendary Stirling Castle is a sight to behold, no less than the glorious Wallace Monument, which is a 246-step tower offering majestic views of the area. Both represent the proper way to discover Scotland in its rawest form.
