4. Kylemore Abbey
Built as a private home for a wealthy doctor, Kylemore Abbey is a lovely 19th-century neo-Gothic edifice sitting pretty on the shores of Pollacapall Lough (lake). It also served as the home for the Duke and Duchess of Manchester for several years before the Benedictine nuns purchased it. Although only certain parts of the Abbey are open for visitors, the exquisite Victorian walled gardens are worth your time. The tea house and café in the vicinity are quite famous too.
