7. Lake Lomond, Scotland
It is easily accessible from Edinburgh, but it seems to arrive in a different world. The lake is surrounded by breathtakingly wild nature, and is inhabited by abundant wildlife.
We wholeheartedly suggest going for a ride in a kayak or boat through the 30 islets of Loch Lomond. That being said, regardless of the fact that we’re talking about one of the most magnificent lakes in Europe, the fact remains that it’s situated in the Trossachs National Park, which is a paradise for hikers.
