7. Brownsville
First settled way back in 1846, Brownsville is a lovely community nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. The first thing you’ll notice upon entering the quaint town is the feeling of stepping back in time. This because things here are incredibly similar to the way they’ve been decades ago. Buildings from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s dot the historic downtown, and the gorgeous Pioneer Park is a 26-acre oasis frozen in time. Another reason why we believe this to be among the best places to visit in Oregon are the lovely historic homes scattered throughout the historic community.
