3. Imam Square
Naqsh-e Jahan Square, or the Imam Square, is the most important place in Isfahan from the religious, touristic, but also commercial point of view. Imam Square is the second largest urban square in the world, after the Tien An Men from Beijing. The “square” is in fact of rectangular form, with fountains in the middle and lots of workshops and boutiques on its edges. The square is dominated by the magnificent Imam Mosque, and opposite to it there is Isfahan’s bazaar. The Mosque must not be missed, being a true Persian art and architectural masterpiece.
