5. Kermanshah
The city of Kermanshah is one of the oldest cities in Iran, with a notable anthropological patrimony. An attraction of cultural interest is the Mo’avelnalmolk Mosque – a unique mosque with a grand variety of pictures that refer to the lifestyle from antiquity, but also represents motifs from the Islamic religion. Another famous destination is the Taghbosta – a place where you can admire the locals’ skills in stone carving. One of the most impressive stone sculptures from Kermanshah is situated inside a cave – the equestrian statue of the king Koshrau II riding his favorite horse, Shabdiz. The whole scene is today completed with stalactite, which provide a special beauty to this place.
