6. Yazd
Besides being the capital of the Yazd province, Yazd is considered at the same time the cultural center of the Zoroastrian civilization. The city is situated in an oasis, at the meeting point of two desserts. As points of touristic attraction, the city offers various interesting places, full of history, religion, and art. A famous tourist spot for Zoroastrians, and not only, is the Pir-e-Naraki sanctuary which is a pilgrimage destination. Yazd is also an important center of Persian architecture. The Amir Chakhmaq Complex is a prominent structure in Yazd noted for its symmetrical sunken alcoves. Walk in the evening on its square and admire the building lit up with orange lighting – a view that you never forget!
