Day 2 in Munich
Admire the freshest works of art in the Brandhorst Museum – the most recent museum added to the art triangle of Munich city. The Museum includes the Neue Pinakothek, that hosts the royal collection of modern arts, the Pinakothek der Moderne, the largest museum of modern art, architecture, and design in Germany, but also the Alte Pinakothek – one of the oldest galleries in the world that houses one of the most famous art collections of old masters. Among them, you can see Leonardo da Vinci’s “Virgin and Child”, Giotto’s “The Last Supper”, Sandro Botticelli’s “Lamentation of Christ”, and other.
After a good dose of art, go to the Englischer Garten – the largest park in the interior of a city in Europe! The main attractions of the park are two summer gardens, a Chinese Tower, the Japanese Teahouse, and Monopteros – a temple of Greek style, which is particularly charming at dusk! Don’t be surprised to see surfers in the park. In one of the artificial streams flowing through the Englischer Garten, there is a standing wave produced by the water pumping mechanism. So, expert and skilled surfers line up along the bank taking turns entering the water with their boards.
For a great night out in Munich visit Kunstpark! Kunstpark is a former industrial area, but nowadays it is dimmed with bars and clubs. The offer of the locals is varied, so there is all kind of entertainment, for all tastes, from clubs with Latino music to hip-hop discos.
