Day 3 in Frankfurt
Walk on the banks of the Main River

Don’t hesitate to walk on the banks of the Main River on sunny days! The Main is the favorite place to spend some time in open air not only of the tourists, but also of the locals. So, it is a great occasion to interact with Germans and find out more about their life habits and culture. In general, you will be amazed by the street education of Germans: no cigarette smoke, no loud music, no garbage on the street, no bad language.

There are 19 bridges that unite the banks, the most popular being the Eiserner Steg, or the Iron Bridge. It connects the center of the city with the Sachsenhausen district. It is 170 meters long. From here, you can admire and take photos of the river, skyscrapers, the Dome, and even watch swans swimming in the waters of the Main.

The street that comes along with the Main, Schaumainkai, comprises 13 museums! We recommend you to visit the Deutsches Filmmuseum. It is the first museum dedicated to cinema from Germany where you have the occasion to analyze a vast collection of artifacts used in film industry. Also, you can have a rest at the ground floor while watching an avant-garde film, Hungarian film, or a silent film.
