Day 2 in Barcelona
Wander through the streets of Barcelona

The next day dedicate to wandering through the labyrinth of streets of Barcelona. Head to the most beautiful neighborhood – Born, with medieval buildings, lots of streets for pedestrians, and an imposing number of unusual boutiques. The main street of the neighborhood is the Passeig del Born. Explore it from its beginning, the outstanding Santa Maria del Mar church, till its end – Born Cultural Center.

Las Ramblas should not be missed as well. It is Barcelona’s most famous avenue that straights from the Columbus Monument till the Plaça Catalunya. The street is full of stalls with souvenirs and there are also tourist information points everywhere. A special mosaic scene is created on Las Ramblas due to the numerous colorful flower stalls. If you have time and desire, visit the wax and erotic museums found along this street, or you can see if there are any exhibitions in the glorious Palau de la Virreina. Las Ramblas is particularly charming in winter.

Visit the Park Guell – another work of Antoni Gaudi declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is situated on El Carmel hill, in Garcia district, and was financed by Count Guell. Gaudi applied diverse symbols of complex iconography to the urban project, thus adding a drop of mystery to this natural destination. The focal point in the Park Guell is the main terrace whose limits are marked by a long bench in the form of a sea serpent. Also, enjoy the most complete view of Barcelona and the bay from the highest point of the park, which is marked by a large cross.
