Day 1
The first day of your Rome tour should be spend on visiting ancient Rome ruins and monuments. The reason for this is the fact that this is probably the main reason that brought you to Rome. In the first day you have a lot of time in your hand given the fact that you still have two more days in Rome. There are many ruins and monuments to see in Rome and so visiting them on your first day will ensure that you go to as many places as possible. Some of the places you should visit on the first day include the following:
· The Roman Colosseum
The Colosseum is one of the most famous monuments in the world and millions of people visit it annually and so it rightfully qualifies as the first place you should also visit when in Rome. This magnificent amphitheatre was built at about 70 AD and it was used to host gladiator and animal fights.
Your ticket to visit the colosseum will also include a visit to the nearby Palatine Hill excavation and museum. This was also home to some Roman Emperors and Aristocrats.
· The Roman Forum
This is one of the most important attractions in Rome as it was the commercial and social capital of ancient Rome. Sparing a few hours from your first day to visit these ruins would be a good idea. Some of the things that you should expect to see here include the Arch of Constantine and the Temple of Venus and Rome. Others would include The Via Sacra and The Arch of Titus.
· Pantheon
The Pantheon is described as the best well kept building in ancient Rome. The dome at the Pantheon will also amaze you and to top it all it has free admission.
