7. De Wallen district
A warren of medieval alleys, skimpily-clad prostitutes in glass cabins (illuminated with red light), noisy bars, intriguing museums, and strip shows—welcome to Amsterdam’s infamous Red Light District known as De Wallen. Located southeast of Centraal Station, De Wallen district attracts a huge number of curious visitors and salaciousness is not the only thing about this historic place.
One of the top 10 tourist attractions in Amsterdam, De Wallen district appears to be straight from a noir movie location. Beware of pickpockets though.
