6. Vondelpark
With over 10 million visitors annually, Vondelpark is one of the top 10 tourist attractions in Amsterdam. Lush green, sprawling garden spread over 120 acres with footbridges, lawns, ponds and twisting paths, Vondelpark was opened in 1895 and was renamed from Nieuwe Park to Vondelpark after the famous 17th-century playwright and poet Joost van den Vondel.
Popular amongst tourist and locals alike, the park has been mentioned in John Green’s 2012 bestseller ‘The Fault in Our Stars’.
