5. Rijksmuseum
With over 7500 masterpieces spread across 1.5km of galleries, Rijksmuseum is an art lover’s Mecca. Located at the museum square in Amsterdam, the Dutch national museum is the largest art museum in Netherlands and was the most visited museum in the country in with 2.2 million and 2.45 million visitors in 2013 and14 respectively.
Dedicated to art and history, the museum has a collection of whopping 1 million objects from the years 1200–2000 which include masterworks by Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, and Frans Hals. Don’t miss the dolls’ houses, blue & white pottery and the new Asian Pavilion.
