The Christiansborg Palace is located right in the center of Copenhagen on a small island known as Slotsholmen. Being the power base of Denmark, not only is Christainsborg a home to the Prime Minister’s office, the Parliament, and the Supreme Court, it does also have at least 800 years of history to offer. If you are familiar with the TV series Borgen, it is highly likely that you have already seen it on the screen. 6. The Round Tower, Copenhagen

Built in 1942 as a mere observatory, this 36 meters high tower is an excellent destination for people who are into panoramic views. While the viewing platform remains to be a major attraction, you can also find a collection that is associated with the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe. A glass floor which is at least 25 meters above the ground enables you to catch a breathtaking view of the rooftops in the city of Copenhagen and on the other hand, gives you a sneak peek into the core of the castle. 5. Amalienborg Palace, Copenhagen

The Amalienborg Palace is located in the Frederiksstaden quarter. Right by the water, you will find the tranquil gardens of the palace. The four palaces which are facing the square were originally built for the noble residences only. After a fire in 1974 that consumed the Christiansborg Palace, the Royalty chose this Palace as their residence. Thanks to its light rococo style, it perfectly blends the styling elements of France and Germany. 4. Oresund Bridge

It took decades for the Oresund Bridge to be planned with multiple controversies; however, it has finally achieved the status of a Scandinavian icon. Located at a distance of about 10 km from Copenhagen, you can either choose to drive or perhaps take a train. Since the Copenhagen airport is right next to it, it starts as a mere tunnel on the Danish side to avoid interfering the flights. Established in 1999, the structure is 8 km in length and opens on the island of Zealand which is known as the largest island of Denmark. 3. Lyngby Open Air Museum, Copenhagen

As a part of the Danish National Museum, the Lyngby Open Air Museum is located at a distance of around 15 km from Copenhagen. The museum spreads at around 35 hectares and is filled with agricultural buildings, original farmhouses, a wide number of mills and dwells throughout the country which makes it a one of a kind living museum. Taking a walk through the magnificent historic gardens and seeing the ancient breeds of a few of the common domestic animals makes it a perfect picnic spot. You may as well choose to take a horse-drawn carriage to take you through the grounds.

2. Kronborg Slot, Copenhagen
