6. Caerlaverock Castle
Boasting a unique triangular shape, complete with a moat, Caerlaverock Castle is widely regarded as one of the most attractive castles in all of Scotland. It has a long history, as well; it was initially completed in the 1270s. However, a large section of the fortification was, unfortunately, destroyed in 1640. Having been besieged and captured on multiple occasions throughout the course of history, to this day it remains one of the greatest medieval fortresses in the country, not to mention one of the most appealing tourist attractions.
