11. Comlongon Castle
Many would argue that the most encapsulating feature of Comlongon Castle are its magnificent walls, which are over 4 meters thick in places. In addition, they also happen to be riddled with numerous interconnecting chambers to an extent not seen in any contemporary Scottish castle. Visitors to this entry on the list of fairytale castles in Scotland are also able to witness a trapdoor located in the guardroom, which gives access to a rather grim and unlit dungeon below.
