1. Dunvegan Castle & Gardens
Dunvegan happens to be the oldest continuously inhabited castle in all of Scotland. It was built on a rock in the middle of a loch on the Isle of Skye and has been the ancestral home of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for more than 8 centuries. Known far and wide for its breathtakingly magnificent formal garden, whose beauty is rivaled only by the many fine oil paintings on display, this castle is truly a visitor’s delight and one we were more than proud to feature as number 1 on the list of fairytale castles you must visit in Scotland.
