Cuisine – What to Eat in Berlin
Germany has a very consistent and famous kitchen.
This is an extremely varied cuisine, based on meat, the most famous being the form of sausages.
Chapter fittings and specialties of vegetables are very good. Here you will find the noodles (Spätzle – which contain much yolk), dumplings (Klose or Knödel – potato or dry bread), potatoes and stews (vegetable-based).
Vegetables occupy an important role in German cuisine: asparagus, spinach, peas, beans, pickles and especially cabbage, which can be boiled or pickled tempered (Sauerkraut).
Fish products are not very popular, according to specialists in gastronomy, but there are almost in any German restaurant. You will find”fall” carp, pike and perch, but especially trout. Usually the fish is cooked and garnished with grilled vegetables.
It is noted that in Germany there are over 1,500 recipes for cooking sausages, Weisswurst (white sausage) is one of them. This is a traditional Bavarian recipe with veal and pork bacon, seasoned with lemon, parsley, onion, nutmeg and ginger.
Here are some recipes of German cuisine:
̶ Bavarian salad – diced apples and cheese, mayonnaise, lettuce, salt and pepper,
̶ Harz potatoes – mashed potatoes with liver sausage, onion, salt and pepper
̶ Angemacht chicken – chicken soup flour and butter, to which we add onion, slices of lemon, salt and pepper,
̶ Apflerotkohl – cabbage in the pan, grated apple, chopped onion, vinegar, salt, pepper and a little sugar,
̶ German salad with meat – beef tongue peas, olives and cucumber (cut fries), mayonnaise, salt, pepper and olive oil.
