10. Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Arizona
This place is one of those locations whose pictures you keep seeing everywhere on the Internet, but can’t quite remember what they stand for. Rightfully considered one of the most iconic and best national parks in America, this Navajo Nation tribal park can be found on the Colorado Plateau, straddling the border of southeastern Colorado and northeastern Arizona.
What makes it so memorable are the recognizable landscapes of sandstone spires, mesas and buttes. It preserves the Navajo way of life and is, altogether, one of the most striking locations in the entire Southwest. Entirely situated within the Navajo Indian Reservation, this is a place so memorable that few visitors have the desire to leave it once they fall under its spell.
