7. Windsor Castle
The British often brag with the fact that Windsor Castle is supposedly the oldest inhabited and largest castle structure in the world. And despite no one having performed any official studies to support that claim, this whopping castle is one of Queen Elizabeth’s official residences. That’s to say she uses the structure for both private and state entertaining, and often spends weekends there. An hour away from London, Windsor Castle is rightfully deemed one of the best Great Britain attractions. In fact, some of the oldest surviving buildings in the complex date back to the time of Henry II, who came to the throne in 1154. How’s that for history?
