8. Stonehenge
This happens to be one of the most iconic and best-known symbols of the U.K. The legendary stone structure can be found in southwest England, and is composed of earthworks set in a circular fashion, each surrounding large, standing stones. While historians say that Stonehenge was completed around 1600 BC, there are theories that Bronze age and Neolithic man started bringing Sarsen and Bluestones from Marlborough Downs and Wales as early as 2500 BC. Whichever theory sounds better to you, it’s important to know that this is definitely among the most interesting places to visit in Great Britain.
