6. Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
One of several unusual milky blue-green glacial lakes found in Banff National Park, Lake Louise has both the beauty of nature and a chateau-style hotel built by the Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1920s. The color of the water is somewhat indescribable, appearing bright turquoise against the deep green, steep forested slopes of the glacier-topped Canadian Rockies. Many regard it as a true gem of North America, and we agree.
