10 Most Magnificent Lakes In Africa You Must Visit

2. Lake Victoria, Uganda/Tanzania/Kenya

Lake Victoria was named after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom by John Hanning Speke, the first European to discover this lake. It is the largest of all African Lakes and is also the second widest freshwater body in the world. Its extensive surface belongs to three countries; the northern half to Uganda, the southern half to Tanzania, and part of the northeastern sector to Kenya. Along its many isles, especially the Sesse Group, one can witness truly majestic landscapes, health resorts and popular sightseeing areas. No wonder it has long been considered one of the most magnificent lakes in Africa.
