2. Ladakh
Spectacularly beautiful mountainous region flanked by the arid landscape and jagged peaks, Ladakh is the highest plateau (9,800 ft) in the state of Jammu & Kashmir in India. With monasteries and prayer flags all over, white-washed stupas, prayer wheels dominating the landscape, Ladakh is magical and life-changing.
Drama created by nature and the spiritual high leads to an overwhelming feeling for most of the first-time visitors. Inhabited from Neolithic times, Ladakh seems like a different world altogether.
