9. Kings Park & Botanic Garden, Perth, Australia
At the Kings Park and Botanic Garden – the southern hemisphere’s largest inner city park – join a walking tour of the place that is revered as a sacred place by the Aborigines. According to their beliefs, the mythical serpent, known as Wagyl, is said to have entered the ground near here and emerged at the foot of Mt. Eliza to create Perth’s beautiful Swan River. The views overlooking Swan River and the city skyline are superb. In September, marvel at the color of native blooms during the Kings Park Wildflower Festival, which is one of the most magnificent celebrations in all of Oceania.
