5. Spokane
It can be said that much of Washington state tends to be less populated farmland to the east of the Cascade Mountains. Similarly, the tourist draws are also fewer and farther between on this side of the mountains, though the weather is sunnier. However, the city of Spokane is a hub of amenities and attractions, particularly parks, and is found on the border with Idaho. Manito Park tends to attract tons of visitors, predominantly the Nishinomiya Japanese Garden located within it, as well as the Riverfront Park, which was Spokane’s venue for the 1974 World Fair. Nowadays it boasts tons of amusement rides, a hand-carved carousel made in 1909, as well as a Ferris wheel.
