7. Huacachina
Basically, this is a small, oasis town located near Ica. We say oasis town because it literally surrounds a small lake, in addition to itself being surrounded by huge, imposing sand dunes. Words really don’t do it justice, as it’s one of the most memorable sights we’ve ever seen, and millions of tourists around the world more than support that claim. Today Huacachina is somewhat overrun by international tourists, yet it was once the Peruvian elite’s own playground.
Dune buggy rides and sand boarding are two of the most popular leisure activities for travelers, and we’re very proud to have experienced this giant of top tourists attractions in Peru.
