1. Tallulah Gorge
Affectionately called Tallulah Gorge-ous, this happens to be the deepest gorge east of the Mississippi. And that’s even without mentioning the fact that it’s nearly two miles long, 1,000 feet deep and situated right next to the Georgia State Park that covers more than 2,700 acres. Put simply – this thing is other-worldly incredible! Boasting ample biking and hiking space, an 80-foot-high suspension bridge, and a total of six waterfalls that cause the river to drop 500 feet over the course of one mile, we’re talking here about a very rare gem that’s not only among the top places to visit in Georgia; Tallulah Gorge is THE attraction to visit in the state. Missing out on this wonder of nature would be equivalent to coming within 10 inches of the Moon and then having a change of heart and going back home to Earth. In other words – inexcusable!
