5. The Ghost Town of Goldfield
Having struck gold circa 1892, Goldfield at the time was a bustling town found not far from the famed Superstition Mountains. On the other hand, the Goldfield of today is a famous ghost town restored from the ashes to allow visitors to experience its former glory firsthand. And while you’ll find tons of ghost towns throughout the state and the country in general, what sets Goldfield apart as one of the best places to visit in Arizona are its underground mines. Whilst visiting, be sure to go on a tour of the abandoned mines. Who knows – you might uncover a gold bar left that’s been sitting in the dark for more than a century.
